Cookie Information

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that get put on your computer by websites as you surf them.  These cookies can store lots of information which can have privacy implications.  We like to think all the  cookies used on this site are fairly innocuous but that’s for you to judge.

Anonymous tracking software (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics (just like virtually everybody else) a service provided by Google.  They gather anonymous data of how people are using this site and then provide us with visitor statistics, details of page views etc etc.  You can think of it as being a bit like CCTV but one that automatically blurs your face so we can see what people have done, but not who.  If you are anti-Google you can opt-out of being tracked by Google Analytics at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout (we’d prefer you didn’t though as this data is seriously helpful to us in improving our website and to provide a better experience for you!) The cookies which Google places on your computer are called: _utma, _utmb, _utmc and _utmz, _qca. Doesn’t have the same ring as ‘Triple Chocolate Cookie’ does it? Click here for an overview of privacy at Google. This is how long the tiny cookies will stay on your computer. However, you can delete them at any time from your browser:

As well as using Google Analytics, we also use our Graphic Design Portal which is a fabulous and very useful piece of technology which allow the design process to go a lot smoother. If you are lucky enough to use the portal, the cookies stored only stay on your computer for the duration that your using the portal. The cookie which is stored on your computer whilst you use the portal is called ‘ PHPSESSID’. We know, it doesn’t sound delicious at all! To optout of having the cookie placed on your computer, please do not use the portal and inform us so we can try to continue to work efficiently without the portal.

Here is a bit more information about the cookie we place on your computer should you use the portal:

How to ensure Let’s Connect will not store cookies on your computer

Coookies are very important

Any web professional will tell you that the cookies we use are very important to ensure that you have the best web experience and that we get reliable statistics about our website which helps our business to continue. If users were able to opt out of these cookies, then Let’s Connect would be using extremely unreliable results.

How to ensure Let’s Connect does not store cookies on your computer

Because we rely on storing small cookie files on users systems, we cannot allow our users to use this site without you allowing cookies to be stored.

Therefore, if you do not wish to have cookies stored on your system, we are sorry to say that you will not be able to use our website, we will be very sorry to see you go. To delete the cookies which have already been stored on your computer from Let’s Connect, please close our website to ensure no further cookies will be stored on your computer from Let’s Connect and navigate to the options menu of your web browser to delete the cookies. Please refer to your web browser’s website for information on how to delete cookies. Our website will not remember whether or not you want cookies on your computer so if you visit our website again in the future, some cookies will be on your system until you delete them again.

We are currently working on ways to allow users to use our site without coookies; however at present, this is not possible.
